Conversation: Mommy & Benjamin

(Conversation riding in the car on the way into work.)


Benjamin:  Mommy, Santa Claus is coming?

Mommy:  Yes, he's coming at Christmas!

Benjamin:  He's coming soon?  Nonna & Poppa are coming tomorrow?

Mommy:  Well, Benjamin, you will see Nonna & Poppa in a few days.  Santa Claus visits good girls and boys at Christmas, but we have a few weeks before Christmas. 

Benjamin:  Ohhhh, OK.


Mommy:  Benjamin, whose birthday is at Christmas?


Benjamin:  (Thinking....)  Hmmm....S-a-n-t-a  C-l-a-u-s?????


Mommy:  (Very sternly after repeatedly telling me the last few days that it was Jesus.)  NO, BENJAMIN!  IT'S JESUS' BIRTHDAY, AND IF YOU CAN'T REMEMBER THAT IT'S JESUS' BIRTHDAY AT CHRISTMAS, THEN SANTA WON'T BRING YOU ANY PRESENTS!!!!!!!!!


Benjamin:  (Under his breath)  .....Ohhhhhh.....Jesus' Birthday.

Mommy:  Benjamin, who's birthday is at Christmas?


Benjamin:  (very enthusiastically) JESUS! 

Yea!  We've got it.....at least for now!
