We left early Friday morning around 9:30am, and we were in Nacogdoches by 12:30pm! I couldn't believe it, but both boys were asleep by 10:00am, and they didn't wake up until 12:00pm! See the pictures below.
Once we got to Danielle's, the boys played so well with Emery (11) and Claire (almost 13). Here they are playing with blocks.
Boys will be boys!!!! Here, Brandon, Benjamin, & Timothy play a video game - racing cars, I think!
Aunt Dani takes some time to help Benjamin "read" some of his first reading books that she gave him for his birthday! She is so patient - I'm not sure I have the teaching gene in me! (Danielle is a teacher at SFA University!)
On Saturday, we went to my cousin Josh's house for a joint birthday/pool party for Brandon (9) and Emery (11). Uncle Daniel was the hit of the party - throwing all of the kiddos in the pool. Here, Benjamin is thrown into the water!
Here, Daniel helps Emery do a flip!
Now Brandon does a flip!
Benjamin's turn for a flip...the first of many! He loved it!
Kaylin (6), Claire (12 1/2), Benjamin (4), and Brandon (9) stop for a pose!
One last throw - a "really high one" - as requested by Benjamin!
Timothy floats around while Emery watches to make sure he's OK.
Kaylin is sweet enough to share one of her hats with Timothy!
On Sunday, we went swimming again, and the kids were so worn out that they couldn't even stay awake to finish a late lunch. Both Timothy and Benjamin fell asleep at 3:00pm. Timothy on the couch, and Benjamin at the lunch table. Harry loaded them up in the car at 3:30pm, and they didn't even open their eyes. They both woke up 30 minutes from home, around 5:15pm.
We had such a fun time - we hope to visit again really soon and spend more time together! My cousins are so much more like brothers/sisters to me than cousins. Our kids play so well together, and it's just an overall treat to get to spend quality, family time together.
Below, are pictures of them asleep at Josh & Shanna's before we left. Until next time.......

Those last couple pictures are hilarious!! It is incredible that your boys will sleep anywhere and in any position! Wish we were all that lucky, ha!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you had such a fun, relaxing visit with your family. Their pool looks so inviting! Looking forward to catching up this weekend!!
