All evening/night long on 10/6/10-10/7/10, I felt like I was going into labor. During the day on 10/7/10, I just knew that at any point my water was going to break. I went into the hospital, as scheduled, at 7:30pm on 10/7/10 (still to be induced the following morning), but by 9:30pm, I was having hard contractions 2-3 minutes apart. By 10:00pm, my water broke, and I got the epidural. By 1:30am, I was dilated to 9cm and waiting for my Dr. to arrive to deliver sweet Lily.
The delivery was really, really quick. Literally, 1 push and 2 coughs later, Lily Johanna was born at 1:57am on October 8, 2010. She weighed 7 lbs 5 ozs, and was 19 inches long. She is beautiful. Pictures below captured the moment!

Now, it's Benjamin's turn to hold his baby sister. He sang "Hush Little Baby" - it was so sweet!

Sunday, October 10th - All ready to head home!

Oh Julie, I have tears reading about Lily's birth and how much her sweet brothers love her already! I'm so sad I couldn't be there in person to see Lily, but you captured her birth day so wonderfully with the pictures. I can't wait to meet her! She looks so much like her big brother Benjamin. What a DOLL!! You are right, she is such a beauty. I can only imagine how much in LOVE you and Harry are with that precious bundle. Way to go, Mama, for such a smooth and successful delivery despite all the numerous challenges you had during pregnancy. Love you girl and hang in there!!
ReplyDeletePS - When can I start calling her Lily Jo? ;-)
Thanks for letting me be there for you and Lily. I am sooooo blessed to have y'all in my life. I love you.
