Thanksgiving in Pictures

My sister and her family flew in from California this year to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with us in Kingwood.  Other than a major flight delay, and getting in at 3:30 am, the visit was a huge success!  We so enjoyed having them.  We hosted my sister, brother-n-law, 3 nieces/nephew, my mom & dad, and my grandmother for almost a week!  We also had my aunt/uncle/cousins over on Sunday to celebrate an early Christmas with my sister's family since they won't be returning for Christmas!  I included just a handful of pictures below.

Uncle Sanjit (my brother-n-law) meets Lily for the first time!

My sister attemps to take our family Christmas card picture...without much success.  Timothy was really hamming it up!  It's hard to get 5 to look/smile all at the same time!
Benjamin is such a cute boy!

Benjamin is excited to see Uncle Sanjit.
Harry and I strike a quick pose.

Here, Nonna & Poppa (my parents) pose with their grandchildren.  My sister's 3 kids in the back:  Maecy, Geory, & Gia.  Mine in front:  Benjamin, Lily, & Timothy

Sanjit & Ginger take a moment to relax.
Me, my mom, my MaMa (mom's mom), and my sister.

Poppa and Benjamin have a "serious" conversation!
I hold my sweet baby girl - 7 weeks old in this picture.

Benjamin hugs "his" MaeMae - he loves her sooooo much!

Timothy puts on someone's (?) glasses!  Gia's maybe?
The boys were playing upstairs together and all of a sudden I realized that it was way too quiet!  I went up the stairs, and this is what I found - both of them sound alseep!  Timothy was inside one of the dirty clothes baskets that we put the clean clothes before they are folded!
The boys "help" decorate the Christmas tree.

The final product.  (A big thank you to my sister for helping decorate the tree this year.)
MaMa (Great Grandmother) loves holding Lily.

Lily gives Uncle Sanjit the biggest smiles!!!!  Seriously!

We spent Sunday with my Uncle Joe, Aunt  Linda, and cousins - Danielle and Josh and their families.  My sister and I, along with my two cousins, grew up next door to each other for years, and never lived more than 10 miles apart for most of our childhood.  We are like brothers/sisters, and we get together as often as possible.  Oddly enough, they all migrated to and live in the Lufkin/Nacogdoches area.  Timothy was a "cowboy" for our gathering with the "Carriere Bunch," as I like to call them.

Auntie Gin and Uncle Sanjit gave Lily a new outfit!

Lily is getting so big!  She weighs over 11 pounds now!

The men watched football on Sunday!  That Texans game was pretty exciting - thought I was watching hockey there for a second!

The girls chit-chat in the kitchen!  (We're not usually this gender biased!  Normally, most of us girls would be watching football while the men cleaned up the kitchen!  :-)

My sister laughs while my cousin, Danielle, shares a hilarious story from her recent class reunion.  We were all rolling!

Another sweet picture of Lily.

It's hard to believe another Thanksgiving has come and gone!  Until next year, we'll keep giving thanks for all of the many things we have to be thankful for.

  1. I don't even know where to begin!! First off, Lily is getting SO big! And that smile, oh my!! Does it make you completely melt or what?? I can't get over how much she looks like her big brother Benjamin. I feel like I'm looking at Benjamin in a bow! (And you know I can relate to that, right??) I love her sweet outfits, too. Isn't it so different having a girl?? And it NEVER gets old, I mean it!

I just LOVE all of your family pictures. They are awesome! The one of you and Harry is my favorite I think. Well, that one and the one of the three kids at the top of your blog -- SO precious!!

I'm so glad you had such a wonderful visit with everyone over Thanksgiving (especially knowing the horrible week you had afterwards with all the family illnesses). Can't wait to see what's next!
