Benjamin's School Program

I'm late with this post, as usual.  This seems to be a recurring theme with ALL of my posts!  Nonetheless....

Benjamin had an end of year school program (about 3 weeks ago) where all of the 4 year-old preschoolers performed in the church sanctuary - singing about 8 songs. Benjamin surprised us - he was really good in all of the performances.

Talking in my sleep

You know it's bad when......

Harry's alarm goes off at 5:00am, and according to him, I sat straight up in bed, turned to him, and very emphatically said, "BOYS!  STOP HITTING EACH OTHER IN THE HEAD WITH TOYS!!!!!"  Turned over and went right back to sleep.

Harry is still laughing, and me?  Well, I don't remember a thing!  Not even the dream.

But, I will tell you this....it doesn't surprise me.....not one. darn. bit.  :-)

Benjamin and...HORSES?

My conversation with Benjamin today while riding in the car.

Benjamin:  (Sees a horse trailer full of horses)  Look at those horses in that cage.

Me:  That's a horse trailer - to transport horses from one place to another.

Benjamin:  Mommy, I want a horse.

Me:  (Oh, crap)  You do?

Benjamin:  Yes.  I think we can buy one at the store.

Me:  Well...we could...but (buying time)...WHERE WOULD WE PUT IT?  (I've got him now!)

Benjamin:  We could buy a farm.  A big farm!  A REALLY big farm.  Yep, we could.

Me:  (Silence)

Lily turns (turned) 6 months, but who's counting?

I am REALLY late on this post!  Lily is already 7 months old and will turn 8 months in just a couple of weeks.  Better late than never, right?  

Lily is one healthy girl!  At 6 months, Lily weighed 21.11 lbs (99th percentile), was 28.75" in length (99th+ percentile), and head circumference was 17.76" (95th percentile).  She was wearing size 12 month clothes (and has already moved up to size 18 months in the last 6 weeks.)

She is sitting up really good and rolling over from back to stomach and stomach to back.  As soon as she started rolling over onto her stomach, we started putting her on her stomach to sleep for the night.  She LOVES sleeping on her stomach.  She is still an excellent sleeper - consistently sleeping 12+ hours each night.

She loves her bottle.  When she sees it, she gets very upset if you don't give it to her immediately.  But...she isn't that crazy about eating baby food.  I am still holding off giving her table food, but I think she would take to it much better than the baby food.

At 6 months, Lily had 6 teeth!  She's got quite a mouth full of teeth and she loves to put everything into her mouth!  She also LOVES her brothers - they make her laugh and smile all of the time.

Below, are her 6 month pictures (pictures of pictures so they aren't high quality), but I wanted to share.  Also, at the very end, I included a video of Benjamin and Lily.  She's our little cutie, that's for sure!

Mother's Day

I had such a nice Mother's Day this year.  It started with a date night - for me and my hubby.  My parents watched our kiddos the Saturday night before Mother's Day so that Harry and I could go to dinner at Vic & Anthony's and stay at the Magnolia hotel in Houston.  We were home by 10:00am Sunday morning, but it sure was nice to get away for an evening.  Below is a snapshot taken before we left!

Lily sleeps on Poppa.  She was so tired, bless her heart! 

When we arrived Sunday morning, my mom and dad were making red and green train pancakes for the boys.   (Red (or orange) is Benjamin's favorite color and green is Timothy's favorite.)

We go outside for a picnic, and Lily looks adorable in her bathing suit and flower!  She loves her bouncy seat!  Benjamin and Timothy stop eating long enough for us to take shots of them, as well.  So sweet.

Benjamin answered these questions at school.  My favorite? "God made my Mom because _______."  Benjamin answered, "..she can work every day."  Yeah...no kidding - job or no job!

Harry, not knowing that Benjamin had completed the sheet above, had Benjamin fill out the answers below about mommy.  My favorite is the first one - "My mom is as pretty as _______."  He answered, "Lily."   

Timothy answered the following questionnaire at school.  I have to say, Timothy pays closer attention to what mommy's favorite food is (salad)!  But...my favorite is "My Mother loves it when I ______ for her."  Timothy answered, "...write my name."  He's right!  I am so impressed that my 3 year old can write his name almost perfectly that I have him do it all of the time for others! 

To wrap up the day, Lily had her very first ride in the swing.  She loves it!!!!

As stressed as I get at times.....and I DO get stressed, I wouldn't trade my kids for anything in this world.  I love all 3 of them, with ALL of my heart.  They bring so much joy into my life, and I love them more than life itself.  I thank God every day for being blessed with 3 of the best kids ever.  

Easter.....Aasmyr Style

We had a very low key Easter celebration this year.  My parents and MaMa came in from Beaumont, and we spent a relaxing day at home with the kiddos.  On Saturday, before Easter, we headed to Easter on the Park - an annual event held in Kingwood - with jumping castles, Easter Egg Hunt, pony rides, petting zoo, games, events, food, etc.  However, when we got there, we realized that the event had been cancelled.  We, along with hundreds of other people who showed up, were very disappointed.  Below, the boys are all ready for the big event (only to find out it wasn't there)!  So....we went to the mall and then later to the park!

 My mom and MaMa helped me dye eggs for the Easter Bunny to hide!  This is just one of 3 cartons!

They stop quickly for a pose.....Lily just wants her bottle!  She is saying, "Enough already!!!!!"

Tiimothy finds lots of eggs!  He is really into this whole egg hunt thing!   Benjamin only wants orange and red ones....which  makes it a little difficult since there weren't that many of those!  Dark pink counts as red with Easter Eggs!  :-)

 All of this egg hunting makes for two tired boys! 

 Lily is just enjoying all of the attention from Nonna and Poppa!

Harry took both of the boys to the park to meet up with their friend, James.  After they got home (around 1pm), Timothy falls sound asleep....and Benjamin rests.

Finally, at the end of the day, we let Timothy - who LOVES sweets, tackle a huge cup-cake that we got for him!  He only ate some of the icing off and the rest went in the trash, but he was in heaven!!!!  You can see from the picture that he LOVES watermelon as well.  It's a family favorite!

 Last, but certainly not least, is the real meaning of Easter - the resurrection of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.  I have to say that I was so impressed with Benjamin this year because he really seemed to understand that Jesus died on the cross and arose 3 days later.  He could tell us the entire story, including rolling away the stone, etc.  I was so proud of him.  Since Easter, Benjamin continues to tell us, "God and Jesus are the ONLY ones who come back after they die!"  Yep - you got it!

Who has the time?

Just a quick note to say, "Who has time to blog?????"  I am really struggling with this task!  I want to do it......I strive to do it....I upload pictures (on a good day), I organize and group them on the computer (on an even better day), I even create a blog post - title only - so that I won't forget what I want to blog about.....but that's where it usually ends.  I am so  busy with my 3 wonderful kids, keeping the household going, AND...let's not forget, my social life, that I can't seem to keep up with the blog!  I AM trying.  In the meantime, please don't give up on me!  More to come......later...
