Lily - 2 Months Old...and counting....

At a little over 2 months old, Lily had her 2 month wellness visit with the pediatrician.  She weighed 13.9 pounds and was 23 inches long.  That puts her in the 92% for weight and the 50% for length. 

She is a REALLY good sleeper at night, which is needed after her fussiness all day long!  :-)  There's an "off night" every once in a while but for the most part, Lily takes a bottle around 10:00pm, goes down around 11:00pm, and doesn't make a sound until between 7:30-9:00am.  Often times, I have to wake her up around 8:30am to quickly get a bottle in before I take the boys to school.

We still have her in our bedroom, but when she turned 2 months old, we moved her from the middle of our bed (in a basket) to the top of the changing table (in a basket or her car seat).   This was progress for me since I checked on her often in the middle of the night (to make sure that she was still breathing!)  Surely every new mother out there understands this fear and paranoia. 

The last few weeks, at the advice of her pediatrician, we have kept her in the car seat to sleep so that she is elevated and can breathe better (with the RSV).  Speaking of breathing and RSV, Lily seems to be doing much, much better.  The pediatrician says that she is on her way to mend but be prepared for it to give her trouble off/on into the Spring.

The Polar Express - Palestine, Texas

The first weekend in December, we took the boys to ride The Polar Express with the Texas Railroad in Palestine, Texas.  We all had such a fun time!  Benjamin was fascinated with the train - he LOVES trains!  Timothy enjoyed the food, music, singing, and dancing!  He never meets a stranger.  Below, are a few pictures from our quick trip!

There's a new elf in town, and his name is Hip-Hop!

The boys received The Elf on the Shelf this year from Nonna & Poppa.  They were very excited to have one of Santa's REAL elves in our house.  They named him Hip-Hop! 

Hip-Hop visits the North Pole each night to report to Santa on if the boys are being good/naughty!  He then returns to our house to a new location.  Each morning the boys are running all over the house to see where Hip-Hop is located.  Below, are just a few of Hip-Hop's favorite spots!

Thanksgiving in Pictures

My sister and her family flew in from California this year to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with us in Kingwood.  Other than a major flight delay, and getting in at 3:30 am, the visit was a huge success!  We so enjoyed having them.  We hosted my sister, brother-n-law, 3 nieces/nephew, my mom & dad, and my grandmother for almost a week!  We also had my aunt/uncle/cousins over on Sunday to celebrate an early Christmas with my sister's family since they won't be returning for Christmas!  I included just a handful of pictures below.

The boys were playing upstairs together and all of a sudden I realized that it was way too quiet!  I went up the stairs, and this is what I found - both of them sound alseep!  Timothy was inside one of the dirty clothes baskets that we put the clean clothes before they are folded!

We spent Sunday with my Uncle Joe, Aunt  Linda, and cousins - Danielle and Josh and their families.  My sister and I, along with my two cousins, grew up next door to each other for years, and never lived more than 10 miles apart for most of our childhood.  We are like brothers/sisters, and we get together as often as possible.  Oddly enough, they all migrated to and live in the Lufkin/Nacogdoches area.  Timothy was a "cowboy" for our gathering with the "Carriere Bunch," as I like to call them.

Lily is getting so big!  She weighs over 11 pounds now!

The men watched football on Sunday!  That Texans game was pretty exciting - thought I was watching hockey there for a second!  

The girls chit-chat in the kitchen!  (We're not usually this gender biased!  Normally, most of us girls would be watching football while the men cleaned up the kitchen!  :-)

It's hard to believe another Thanksgiving has come and gone!  Until next year, we'll keep giving thanks for all of the many things we have to be thankful for.
