We spent a wonderful weekend at Lake Nacogdoches with our extended family - "The Carriere Bunch," as I like to call them. My Aunt Linda and Uncle Joe (mom's brother), along with my cousins Josh (& Shanna) and Danielle (& Daniel), and their sweet kids joined us, along with my parents and MaMa for a weekend of old-fashioned fun. Josh and Danielle are truly like a brother and sister to me. We grew up together, went to the same school, our dad's worked together, went on vacations together, etc. I remember very little about my childhood without them being apart of it!
We rented a Lake House for a few nights, and we enjoyed....telling old stories, sharing new ones, and making new memories. As always, we cooked, cleaned, and ate WAY too much good food! It's kind of a part of our family tradition to cook some of our favorites when we all get together! Tacos were a huge hit, and we very seldom have a get-together without having Aunt Linda's green rice and Daddy's pancakes!
Something new that we experienced was riding around in Uncle Joe's boat! The boys had a blast! I think the pictures speak for themselves!
