The Museum of Natural Science - Benjamin Makes a Visit

Benjamin studied all about dinosaurs week before last in school, and he was so excited, he asked me several times if he could see the dinosaurs!  So, Harry and I decided to take a last minute outing Friday before last - just the 3 of us - to The Natural Science Museum to show Benjamin the dinosaurs.

We didn't tell Benjamin where we were going - we wanted it to be a surprise.  As soon as we started walking to the elevator, he saw the dinosaur on the wall, and was so excited, he didn't know what to do with himself!  We all had a great time - captured in pictures below.

Benjamin runs in - pointing and calling all of the dinosaurs by the correct name!

Benjamin was captivated by the big movie screen!  He loved watching the short story - and starting pointing and saying, "Planet Earth!  Planet Earth!" at the "correct" time.

We stopped briefly for him to "play" with matter.

He also watched a short musical film on energy.  It was really cute and quite educational!  Mommy and daddy enjoyed it too!

Since daddy works in oil & gas, and really loves what he does, we took a little time to take some shots of Benjamin and his daddy with things daddy is very familiar with....and things we hear him talk about all of the time, but can't quite picture!  Now we can!!!!!  (Harry could have stayed in this part for HOURS...but with the attention span of a 4 year old, we had to move on quickly - and cut poor Harry off a few times!)

Lastly, the museum had a Pirates Exhibit, which we didn't take the time to visit because we had to get home to pick up Timothy from school, but we did take a minute to snap a picture with Benjamin and the pirate!  Very cool!

At the end of the trip, Benjamin looked up at Harry and me and said, "Mommy & Daddy, now I want to see the REAL dinosaurs!"  Sorry, kiddo, not in this lifetime!  :-)

  1. I had no idea Benjamin had such a love for dinosaurs! I love that you and Harry took the time to have this special one-on-one time with Benjamin to do something so fun for him. What a fun day that he'll remember for years to come!
