"Clap Your Hands"

Every night during our bedtime routine, I sing 3-4 songs for Benjamin before leaving his room.  Last night, he wanted me to sing, "Clap Your Hands."  So....I started singing (and he joined in)....

Benjamin and me singing... "Clap. Clap. Clap your hands.  Clap your hands together.  Clap.  Clap.  Clap your hands.  Clap your hands together.  Clap a little faster now.  Clap along with me.  Clap a little slower now.  Clap along with me."

We then repeated that with "Stomp.  Stomp.  Stomp your feet........"

I thought that was the end of the song so I stopped.  Benjamin said, "No Mommy!  You're not done yet!"  And...he started singing his version of the last verse.

Benjamin:  "Dodge.  Dodge.  Dodge your head.  Dodge your head together......."

I said (making an assumption), "Benjamin, it's NOD your head."

Benjamin said, "NO MOMMY, NO!  It's DODGE your head!"

It's started.....  Even at the age of 3, he is 100% confident that he is right!  :-)

We both proceeded to sing our own versions of the song....Benjamin singing "Dodge your head..." and me singing "Nod your head..." and he seemed happy with that.

  1. Well, you have to admit...his confidence is admirable, ha! I sure do love reading stories about your sweet boys. They are SO entertaining!
