Last Friday, Timothy has his adenoids removed. Timothy didn't have any problems with the surgery - he is doing great! The only problem he had was coming off anesthesia. He cries and throws himself uncontrollably when he wakes up after surgery, so this time, they gave him morphine (thru his IV) pretty quickly upon waking up.
Timothy was "drunk" most of the day - we had to watch him very closely. Other than that, and a bad fall he had Saturday morning with a trip to the ER (which will be covered in a different posting), the surgery was rather uneventful. We captured the day in pictures below.
Here he is in Admitting at the hospital.

Timothy was an angel for everyone!
They gave him a bunny to add to his "lovies."
He plays games on mommy's phone.
He works puzzles with daddy.
They gave him an oral "drousy" medicine.
Right before they took him to surgery.
He never cried!
After surgery, mommy trying to console him!
My carpal was killing me!!!
Daddy took over...and with some morphine,
Timothy was able to calm down and get some rest.
We're in the car and headed home.

Watching the Backyardigans...his favorite.

Poor baby! I'm so glad the surgery is over and that he came out relatively well. (The next day was a different story, ha!)
ReplyDeleteI remember when Connor had his tubes put in and he reacted to the anesthesia the same way. It's so hard to see your baby that way, but hopefully the surgery will resolve some of his sinus problems!
