The morning of Saturday the 13th, Timothy was "showing off" to his Nonna by showing her how he jumps a big, huge jump from the bottom stair each and every morning. Well, in the process of "showing off," he jumped a REALLY BIG jump.....built up way too much momentum....lost his balance...and went flying forward, head first, into the front door - right into the hinged door stop. The hook-like metal hinge went straight into Timothy's head, creating a hole.
Our immediate fear was that he had knocked his eye out; however, as soon as we looked at him, we knew, his eye was spared, and he had hit his brow. This was a huge relief. We knew he would be OK, but we rushed him to the ER immediately for stitches. Our story is in the pictures, outlined below.
Daddy holding Timothy in the
back seat with an ice pack on his head.
(Mommy was stopped at a red light while taking the picture!)
We realize he is OK and would be safer
in the car seat. Still holding ice on the wound.
Quick shot of the wound.
The nurse is applying swab with
cream to make the area numb..
Watching T.V.
Watching T.V. upside down while daddy rubs his belly.
(Timothy LOVES for his belly to be rubbed.)
Straight-jacket - about to do stitches.
All done. Thirsty boy.
Watching T.V. He's getting very sleepy.
One more belly rub before we go.
Timothy sleeping on the way home.
The following Monday morning eating breakfast.

Poor sweet baby! I'm just SO thankful that he missed his eye. Boys know just how to get themselves into the worst messes!
